ARTICA-ARBOX present the brand’s first dedicated menswear collection for SS20 in Paris. Artistic Director, Irene Roth, explores the fast moving augmented reality environment we’re moving into as a global community, fusing art and fashion to create a collection that plays on perception of what a technological future might look like. Visions of the future and Sci-Fi influenced themes run throughout, inspired by how these have played out through cinema and art over the years, notably in the form of “space age” body suits and form-fitting garments.
Outerwear represents a seamless and complimentary juxtaposition of future gazing elements and nods to the past, taking iconic pieces such as the trench coat, waxed field jacket and military overalls, augmenting them with innovative technical fabrics and hardware from translucent plastic piping to rubberised Velcro fasteners and transparent military pockets. Nude and neutral tones form the base palette in line with the current day vision of functional fashion tech, highlighted and contrasted with bold colour pops in red, pink and blue. Elements of plastic, PVC, piping, rubber and coated fabrics lend a futuristic tactility.
